What is is for?
The purpose of the grant is to help the Danish American cause and consequently we have decided to offer a DAC Annual grant to the Danes Worldwide Summer School for a US resident student.
The grant covers education, lodging with all meals, any excursions and a Danish Summer School t-shirt. In addition transportation from Copenhagen at the beginning and from the school back to Copenhagen at the end.
Round-trip Airfare to/from Copenhagen and pocket money (we suggest perhaps DKK 1,000) are not included in the grant.
DAC Annual Grant Requirements
| Age: |
Students ages 13 1/2 to 17 |
| Danish: |
It is required that the applicant has a connection to Denmark. The student can be second or third generation Dane with an interest in learning the language and culture. |
| Resident: |
The student must be a US resident. |
| Maturity level: |
It is important that the applicant has the maturity level to think and act independently far away from home. Consequently it is likely that we will give some priority to older applicants. This maybe less important if the student is familiar with Denmark already and has family/friends there. |
| Student Essay: |
In addition please write a few words (perhaps 50-100) about why you would like to receive the DAC Annual Grant. Make sure you explain your relationship with Denmark. |
